Was this done in watercolor paints? Those are tricky to work with because the colors "bleed" into each other sometimes. But it doesn't look like you had any trouble with that, you did an excellent job. I see you used crayon or pastel or chalk too. Good job! (From Grandma)

Nice work on this mosaic! You have to be so patient to glue all those tiny pieces to the paper, one at a time, because they tend to stick to your fingers and your desk and your clothes and your hair and your dog...oh wait, Conan probably wasn't at school that day! (From Grandma)

Is this a self-portrait? She does look like you. If I did a picture of myself on white paper, you wouldn't be able to see my hair because it's all white like the paper! (From Grandma)

This beautiful picture reminds me of how sometimes you see a rainbow when it's raining but the sun is shining at the same time. We especially like how you used two different shades of blue because blue is our favorite color. (From Grandma & Grandpapa)

My goodness, those fish blow a lot of bubbles! Did they drink soapy water? Or maybe they drank some soda pop and they're doing lots of burps? Haha, just kidding. Sometime you should come whale-watching with us out in the ocean. We did it last year for the first time and it was so fun. (From Grandma & Grandpapa)

What a beautiful work of art! This owl picture has so many layers to it. There's the background paper, then the tree, and on top of that the owl, and on top of that the various colors you added to make it look more realistic. It's truly amazing. It looks like you must have had to assemble a lot of little pieces in just the right order, and the right places, so it would end up looking like an owl. Her little feet are so cute too. Good work! What a fun little guy! Is he a scarecrow? How did you get those dark spots on the green background? I wonder if we should put up a scarecrow in our garden. Do you think it might scare away the deer that like to eat our roses and our raspberries? Or the bunnies that eat our clematis and snapdragon flowers? (From Grandma & Grandpapa)

It's so fun to make stuff with leaves, grass, sticks, flowers, and other stuff you find in the yard and woods. Isn't it cool to see how leaves come in all different shapes and sizes and colors? That big leaf you chose looks so pretty with its yellow body and dark red edges. (From Grandma & Grandpapa)
