My mind is blown by the miniature image which contains a miniature image! And I can imagine that it keeps going that way, with infinite miniatures, even if they're too small to draw or see. Very cool! Love, Aunt Jill

You have expressed yourself and your amazing collection of interests so well! Stay awesome!

Rachel ~ When I saw your latest drawing in a message from Artsonia, I said “WOW!” Even if I didn’t already know this girl, I could see that she thinks about Piano, Percussion instruments, Milkshakes, Books and of course, Unicorns. And she has a bright face with wide-open eyes! Very nice work!

I love the way the last letter turns into a miniature of the whole piece. That is so creative!

“Beautiful Oops” sounds like a fun book, and a great idea for starting a drawing or painting and turning a mistake into something beautiful or interesting. Mistakes can be a challenge to work with… you don’t have to just cover them up. Nice job, Rachel!

I love this "one point perspective" that you created of your name! It's a nice way to end the year in art. I can't wait to see what you do next year!
Posted 4 months ago by Aron (Father)
The colors are beautiful. It looks like all of these shapes have come from "one point"!

Wow! this is cool!

Your aliens look like a really fun group, and you created an exciting world for them! Did you enjoy using your imagination as you planned this artwork?
Posted 6 months ago by Aron (Father)
The pictures that you and Hazel made — Op Art — are pretty amazing! We could hardly believe that 4th graders could do this.
Posted 7 months ago by Linda
I bet you enjoyed seeing examples by Riley and Esher, and I love the optical illusion you have created! Do you think it would be possible to build a triangle like this?
Posted 7 months ago by Aron (Father)
This is so fun! It looks like you had fun making it. I agree with you, I think you should make more.
Posted 7 months ago by Titi Chey Chey
This might be the most colorful and cheerful cubism artwork I have ever seen!
Posted 7 months ago by Aron (Father)
Wow?? That is my reaction to seeing this piece. The rainbow colors are so bright and I like how they’re also sprinkled into the hair. The heart-shaped face and its expression are… WOW !!

Nice job showing that the side of the purple planet that's facing the sun is lighter! By the way, I've been studying value (light/dark) too, in my weaving projects.

Nice work with the shading, to create shadows, mid-tones, and highlights! This gave the cute teddy bear a nice 3D appearance!
Posted 9 months ago by Aron (Father)
I love your use of shading on the eyes and nose. They look like buttons I can almost grab! And way to go -filling the whole page with pencil! That was a lot of work. Looks like a teddy I'd like to hug.

Cool! I would like to hear more about how you created this print.

This Britto-inspired artwork is full of interesting and exciting patterns!

Silvia is lovely, and I really enjoyed reading the artist statement for a wonderful explanation of some of the creative decisions! Keep up the good work!

Rachel has made a Unique Unicorn — yellow and with a pompom on its head! That must have been fun. I’m wondering why there’s an eye on the tube. (T.p. tubes can be made into lots of different things, and we never run out of them.)

Rachel — that’s a cute unicorn flying through the air! The colors you used for her mane and tail look like sparkles to me, so that is special. It must have been interesting to use the pointillism technique in your drawing. That takes a long time to fill the space, right? I hope it was fun.

Rachel, I like your artwork, Lake. It reminds me of the blue waters of the Mediteranean Sea by Israel. I hope some day you will go and visit that area. Love, Mima

This is a good looking pizza! It is a really good choice for something that can be symmetrical. Did it make you hungry while working on it?
Posted 1 year ago by Aron (Father)
This pizza is so neat and well-balanced, a lot less messy than the real thing! Even though I just had lunch, it is making me a bit hungry. Nice job, Rachel!
Posted 1 year ago by Linda (Savta)
I love the choice you made for what the "stick" actually is, and I would like to hear what some of your other ideas were. I'm looking forward to seeing all of your 4th grade art!
Posted 1 year ago by Aron (Father)
It looks like Rachel turned her “stick” into the horn of a red unicorn! (We are not surprised.) The unicorn looks a bit lonely, but the color bursts and yellow stars in the sky are pretty, and the field with big green grass is well done. I like it!

Making a flower was a great idea for your Mandala!

Wow! This is so pretty!

Rachel, the variety of colors and flowers are a reflection of your complexity!

Rachel, your vase with flowers is beautiful! I can see the nice thick brush strokes in the background. Did you enjoy painting a still life, and getting inspired by the style of Van Gogh?
Posted 1 year ago by Aron (Father)
Rachel, I love your flowers! Each one is different. Love, Mima

I really like the textures of the castle. I can see that it is old, but still strong. I also love that the three dragons are defending the castle, and Unicorn island, instead of attacking it!

Rachel, your butterfly looks very happy!
Posted 1 year ago by Miriam
I love your flower animation. That looks like a lot of fun to make!

Your Alebrijes turned out great! The imaginary animal and color choices make it one of a kind!
Posted 2 years ago by Aron (Father)
This animal house looks like a very exciting place! I have a lot of questions about what is going on here. I like it!
Posted 2 years ago by Aron (Father)
Here is another Amazing picture by Rachel. I think she put many animal homes together in a big city or a mountain by a lake. I want to ask her about this… the combination of all those colors and shapes is wonderful!
Posted 2 years ago by Linda
I love how you were inspired by Andy Warhol to create your very own Pop art! I see that you figured out how to include some of your favorite things. I love it!
Posted 2 years ago by Aron (Father)
Rachel — you have amazed me again! The same creature and rainbow and clouds are in all four parts of the picture, but the different colors in each square make the whole thing really special. You even put the rainbow colors in different orders… Wow!

I see a road going through those green hills, and the sun is spectacular! It might be sunset nice work!
Posted 2 years ago by Savta
I love the landscape you have created! From the hills in the foreground, to the beautiful sun in the background -- all with very interesting colors and textures!
Posted 2 years ago by Aron (Father)
I love you Rachel. I'll be coming to see you next month. ????????

It takes a lot of skill to make those open-style letters, and I like the color stripes too!
Posted 2 years ago by Savta
Your face sculpture shows a lot of expression!
Posted 2 years ago by Aron (Father)
Your smiling butterfly is a great example of symmetry!
Posted 2 years ago by Aron (Father)
This is one of my favorite pieces of art you have created! Unicorn mermaids! Mer-unicorns? In addition to the great subject material, I see that you worked hard on details like the scales, the reflections on the bubbles, and the shapes of the plants!
Posted 2 years ago by Aron (Father)
Your imagination and this style are a perfect match! I love the critters and the jungle where they live. This piece also has a nice combination of details, big brush strokes, and paper cut-outs. Wow!
Posted 2 years ago by Aron (Father)
Great use of positive and negative space. You came up with such fun shapes!
Posted 2 years ago by Aron (Father)
This is a sunset or sunrise I would like to see for myself, with the warm colors of the sun and the cool colors of the water!
Posted 2 years ago by Aron (Father)
You have invented a unicorn that makes cupcakes! Everybody should have one of these! I can see that you thought about the design and worked hard to create it. Very nice!
Posted 3 years ago by Aron (Father)
A Nerdy Birdie indeed! Maybe the large eyes show that it's wearing glasses. I like the nice long beak, and cute wings.
Posted 3 years ago by Linda (Savta)
This is an amazing painting! It looks like a bird in flight and also like a boomerang, and the artist did a great job with the dots.
Posted 3 years ago by Linda
I enjoyed studying this dot painting! Was there an animal that was the inspiration?
Posted 3 years ago by Aron (Father)
I love this drawing and painting of Darth Bubbles! It is fun to find inspiration for art in your own classroom!
Posted 3 years ago by Aron (Father)
This is an exciting painting. I see how the dog is in the style of Keith Haring, and it is attracting my attention as well as the attention of the people looking out the windows!
Posted 3 years ago by Aron (Father)
I see that this fish has some excellent pointy triangle teeth!
Posted 3 years ago by Aron (Father)
I like this colorful striped creature, swimming over the stalks of green seaweed. And beautiful blue water! I almost missed the two starfish on the sea floor!
Posted 3 years ago by Linda
That is a really interesting green person with lots of fingers and toes! I like this drawing, and I'm pretty sure that your art teacher is not that weird!

It's perfect for March! The cutest elf, hat and all. Yay for Rachel.

The shapes and lines here make for a very interesting work of art. I particularly like the musical notes, and the blending of two rainbows of color!
