Dear Ryen, Oh wow….Beautiful green sea turtle swimming along colorful ocean reef in the deep sea. What a beautiful hand made clay tile artwork. I love the colors you used. You have great tastes in picking great color combinations. Love, Waipuo

Dear Ryen, Your new “Redial Semmetry” artwork is impressive. I like the way you used the blue yarn for making outlines and used red yarn to hold the blue yarn in place with tacking stitches. The blue/red color contrast frames the artwork so well. The bright pink and green embroidery surrounding the silver medal makes it a focal point. I’m so proud ythat you can do embroidery so well. Lots of Love, WaiPuo

Dear Ryen, I immediately saw the peace symbol in your “Peace” artwork. It's a symbol for freedom and for a world without wars. You have done an excellent job using great color combinations to make the peace symbol stand out. I understand that this is a piece of foil texture art, and noticed that you used glue during the process. I bet this was an interesting experience using different mediums (foil and glue). Wish I had similar exposures when I was growing up. Love, WaiPuo

Snow covered houses, decorated with lights, look very pleasant to my eyes. It took a serious effort to produce this elegant piece. Good job, Ryen.

Dear Ryen, Wow, I love your paper snowflakes. Looks like you have fine motor skills to fold and cut out the paper. Though you may not enjoy outlining the snowflakes with the markers, you’ve done a great job outlining them with good color combinations so that the snowflakes truly stand out. Good work!! Love, WaiPuo

Dear Ryen, The colors of white and gold on the ground and snowmen depict a chilly/snowy winter night with twinkle lights in the background. It makes me think of Christmas time. GOOD WORK! I am very proud of you. Love, WaiPuo

Dear Ryen, I love how you use colors in the ‘Cocoa Mug” artwork. I was immediately drawn to this piece. The combination of orange, blue and yellow colors makes the painting so appealing. The background colors of pink/white/purple make the main object (being the coaco mug) stand out and the background recessed. Your work always brings a smile to my face. Love, WaiPuo

Dear Ryen, Your “ 4-value Orange Pumpkin” artwork taught me that painting values is the fundamental to create still life paintings. You used a bright shade of orange color to make the main object (being pumpkin) to stand out. The light/dark shades were used as the background colors so that the orange pumpkin would grab our attention. Like it very much. Great Job!!! Love, WaiPuo

Dear Ryen, The “Fencing” artwork is powerful. The red color outlining the fencing figure provides lots of positive engergy. I like the color combination of red, green blue and orange. This is a beautiful artwork. I love it. Wai-Puo

Dear Ryen, Your new artwork “Sun Balance” is very interesting. Noticed that the design is balanced between light and dark colors – the essence of Japanese Notan art. The colors of yellow and black reflect the day and night we human beings have experienced. Also noticed that you have good coordination of your eyes and hands to be able to cut around delicate shapes. Great work! Love, Waipuo

Dear Ryen, The "Center Creations" artwork is very interesting. I'm not sure whether you and your schoolmates had this in mind, but the pentagon shape of the artwork somehow reminds me of the Star Wars Millennium Falcon. The center piece of the artwork stands out because of the orange color blocks along with white diamond shaped connectors. The small star shaped module with red body and pointy shaped green pieces seems to be a flying vehicle. The yellow hexagon shaped blocks highlight the entire the artwork. You've done a great job!! Love, WaiPuo

Dear Ryen, Your “Wacky Hair Self Portrait” is cool and awesome. The wacky hair on top of the head really caught my eyes as the patterns seem to reflect the design shown on the t-shirt. I love the handsome young man (being you) drawn in the portrait. Love, WaiPuo

Wow, this hair style can outcompete that of PM Boris Johnson.

Dear Ryen, The “Present” is an interesting artwork. Your hands must be skillful to form the cover (with bow) that fits into the box. The red/green colors remind me of the Christmas holidays. I’m very proud of you for making this piece. Love, WaiPuo

The amber beads of lights look warm and cozy. I am blown away by the chimney. It looks so real. I can almost smell the smoke.

Dear Ryen, It’s amazing that you created the artwork “House of Light” by weaving different sizes/colors of yarns together. To understand more about hand weaving, I went on the internet to find out what's involved to weave yarns into an artwork. Looks like you have handy hands that can control yarns steadily. Your sense of colors is great. I like the colors of the house with a multi-color sky as its background. Love, Wai-Puo

The title of the art is “cactus city”. I suppose the pot represents the boundary of the city. The color scheme - green and blue, is pleasing to the eyes. There is a real Cactus City in California. In Google map, the city is represented by pictures showing green cacti with blue sky in the background.

Dear Ryen, Happy New Year!! You picked great colors! I always like green and blue-gray colors and they look beautiful in your cactus artwork. It reminds me of the enormous cactus garden in the nearby Huntington Library. Hope one of these days we can visit the place together. Love, WaiPuo

I had to read a wiki of "Mola Arts" to find out it's a Central America art. I see a jaguar in the center of this piece. The color coordination is beautiful. I also see a "h" and a "r" (r with a long tail) making up the body of the jaguar.

Dear Ryen, Love the artistic work you’ve done on your “Mola” artwork. The color combinations reflect the spirit of ancient Mola. I specially like the ‘face’ you drew on the figure. Love, WaiPuo

Dear Ryen, I'm impressed with the weaving job you've done for the artwork. Love it. I don't think I could do this when I was at your age. Great Job! WaiPuo
