Well that’s disturbing! Hannah would approve. Great art should be fun and - sometimes- disturbing. Love, Auntie J

Henry, you might get two compliments on your art from me. You deserve kudos for your lovely message, great puppy dog, the deep blue sea and the golden sun. The wonderful cursive signature also caught Grndma's attention. Proud of you. Love, Grandma

Henry, Your winter scene is gorgeous like the northern lights are gorgeous. Your sky is so vivid, and I like how it can be seen through the trees. That sunset is memorable. ? Grandma

Henry, Your great wave painting is powerful. You followed the original artist's plan but were creative, too. I love art, as you know, and your work sent me back to my art books to learn more about Japanese symbolism. I am can't wait to learn from your next art project. Love, Grandma

Amazing! I have a book about the artist who inspired this in my car right now. He said, “when I am 80, you will see real progress.” He always knew he could keep learning new techniques, just like you! Love, Auntie J.

Henry, your latest art project reminds me so much of the Lantern Spectacular we went to last summer. It is so bright and colorful. That eye looks very aware, and I can see that tongue going in and out to catch prey. Good job! Grandma

"zentangled pumpkin by the dim of a pockmarked moon" The pumpkin is good, but the eerie edge light of the moon is my favorite. Love, Auntie J.

Henry, I really like your autumn trees. The colors are so bright and beautiful. And the trees being reflected in the lake are an added bonus. The geese flying south for the winter are a great addition to the picture. I think I hear them honking. Thank you for putting so much effort into your art project. Love you, Grandma

Wow Henry, you did a fantastic job on your sea picture. It is really, really hot in Wisconsin, and when I saw your picture, I immediately felt cool and refreshed. No one knows the sea creatures like you do; I like the detail of your creatures among the plankton and bubbles, Your picture is a job well done. Love you, and see you soon. Grandma

Hi Henry, I hope that you had a good day at school. The latest art project that you did at school just popped up on my computer. Oh, your cat has such a marvelous personality. You must of had a lot of fun working on it. I particularly like the eyes and the mischievous smile; both remind me of somebody I know. Love you tons, Grandma

Henry is that stitching? What did you use? It looks like the textures are really interesting, and your work is very careful! I would love to see it in person one day!

Henry, I like your carefully done circle designs. Each is different and that makes your artwork so interesting. I like the color combinations that you put together, too. I can tell that you were thinking about a lot techniques while in art class. Love, Grandma

Henry, Your bear looks like he belongs in the land of "Frozen." I am beginning to wonder if we will see any more of winter in WI. We have plenty of cold weather, and we have had ice, but we have had very little snow. Your bear might not be happy here unless he went to Vilas Zoo in Madison to visit friends. Do you remember the polar bears there? Love and miss you, Grandma

Henry, I just saw your latest artwork. That snow flake on the tongue sure looks good. And you put such effort into making the boy's sweater and scarf interesting and colorful. Perhaps with a blizzard heading toward you for Saturday, you will have great fun playing in the snow. Be sure to bundle up, too. Love, Grandma P.S. Don't forget to play Scrabble on Saturday, too.

Henry, Your color wheel cub cake is beautifully painted. The squiggles make the occasion for the cupcake look happy. Can you tell me what is on the top of the cupcake? I have a feeling you were being your creative self. Love you, Grandma

Henry, What a lovely autumn picture. Your trees in the background and foreground are excellent. I really like your attention to a variety of leaf color. Your birds are so graceful; they really look like geese looking to enjoy the lake. I can tell that you put a lot of effort into your art project. Bravo! Love, Grandma

Nice work Henry! I like the layers of color (sky, water, grass) and the big trees in the foreground and the small trees in the distance. The water even looks like it’s reflecting the sky and the clouds! How ever did you make the white clouds overlap the darker pink and purple in the sky?

Hi Henry, Your latest art work looks not only scary but also cold. I like your shadows a lot. It looks like a night scene from Harry Potter - the one where Harry, Hermione and Ron leave Hogwarts at night to go into town. They pass through the woods before they, on a reconnaissance mission, get to the inn. Do you remember that? I bet that you do. Love you a lot, Grandma
- Lynn on January 14, 2021
Wow, Henry! I love how mysterious these trees look in the snow! Look at those shadows they are casting! I bet some good stories and adventures could take place among these trees. Love you so much! Mama

Hi Henry, is great. You might be reading this on your snowy day. I just wanted to tell you that your cardinal on the bird bath is great. All of your colors bring your scene to life. I do believe you even used glitter on your snow. It looks real. Love, Grandma

Dear Henry, Your autumn leaves done in water color are just lovely. The colors remind me how very beautiful this season is. It looks to Grandma like you have a bird flying into your picture. Am I correct in thinking that I see a bird? Your art makes the family smile. I look forward to seeing more of your work.
