Whimsical is the perfect title. It makes me think of a "dancing tree" in a cartoon. I love the color too. Pink gives me a happy feeling.

Love this bowl. Blue—my favorite color. I like how you tied the “wave” of the rim with the center design. It feels balanced.

I love covered bridges and I like the 3-dimensional effect in your piece.

Dear Ava, There are so many aspects of this that I love. The texturing of the wood shingles is wonderful. Your use of line always amazes me. I notice that the horizontal division in the door glazing is slightly above center and it lines up with the middle of the window sashes. Of course I especially love the hydrangea. I only wish mine looked so beautiful. You perfectly captured the color variations that occur in real hydrangea blossoms. And the way the hydrangea grows through the railing, and above it and in front of it is sophisticated and beautiful. The best part is that you drew this for your Mom! I am so proud of you and I'm happy to be part of your artistic life.

I love Boston too, Ava. I think you will get to live there some day. This is a great rendering. It would be fun to frame — great inspiration for your future!! mimi

I love how the blue hues set the stage for your “folds” and shadows.

Ava, this is such an interesting piece. I am curious as to where you started the continuous line—in the center? The pastel colors you chose gives the piece a kind of mysterious feel. Bravo!!

dear Ava, I think that your FOLDED FABRIC marks a turning point in your artistic development. Everything we see is because of light, and shadow, and this work shows that you not only understand this but that you can represent it realistically. This takes perception, and skill. I looked back at your earlier works that show shading and shadows. There is your PEAR still life from grade 9, and several from grade 10 (Hovering Forms, Drapery Still Life showing a person from the back, Two Hands in pinky promise, the Cape Cod Mansion, Jug and Pumpkin still life). I see a clear trend of improvement. I am so proud of you. I hope you keep learning. Art has made my life richer and I know it is doing the same for you. I am so proud of you.

I love your idea of creating a “snow globe”! So real it makes me want to give it a shake. I like the colors you chose—especially against the blue sky!

Ava, I really like this piece a lot. I love your thoughts about the light and darkness in our lives. I do believe that a life without faith can be dark and that a strong faith in whatever is meaningful to you can make even every day life feel brighter. And you make my life brighter for sure!!

This is a very interesting piece, Ava. I like the balance of the leaves and branches and trunk. The shades of the green lines and white background give the piece the perfect background and showcase your creativity. Bravo!!!

Oh WOW Ava, you continue to surprise me. This is gorgeous. Someday I hope you will come here to create another one of your beautiful designs in real stained glass !

Ava is this a copy of the window? Was just wondering? If it’s not a copy could you make the faces more multicultural? Not sure if this is a legitimate question or not—depending what the prompt for the piece is. That said I love the piece. The vivid color is beautiful. I can visualize it with sunlight streaming through the glass.

This is really interesting, Ava. I like the design of the filling—did you have a real Oreo for a subject?

I love this mandala, Ava. Love the color purple—the various shades and the different sizes of the dots make it so pleasing.

This is an interesting rendering of a plain basketball sneaker. I like the definition of the shoe coupled with the less defined colors. It is also interesting how you picked out the star to use as a second focal point. Although the choice of colors is not of our flag, the position of the stars and the illusion of stripes remind me somewhat of a flag.

Ava, I love seeing your artwork. I wasn't sure which to pick for my favorite--it was between these keys and your portfolio cover. I ended up picking the design factor of the keys and because it is so different. I love the blue and green colors together too.
