Julian, your depiction of “haystacks” captures the beauty found in everyday things we see in our world. Sometimes we ignore these things but your art really brings the captivating subject to light. I love the way you observed the changing light and thought about the perfect time of day for your piece. I love your unique perspective and the way you chose to depict your atmosphere. I enjoy how you helped the viewer imagine a close haystack and one far off in the distance. You make the countryside seem elegant and peaceful. You have the unchallenged ability to play with light and landscape. Beautiful work!

Julian, This might be my favorite piece this year. A lovely rendition of a monet style piece of artwork. I love the colors you used for the water and the way your color selection shows movement and depth. I especially love the Lilly pads and I can almost imagine the little frogs that will bask in the sunshine on those! The bridge reminds me of the bridge we walk across at the nature center in the spring. I wonder if that was your inspiration. I’m hoping your teacher actually starts sending some these home soon! I’ve been wondering what you’re up to in art class. Bravo, Julian!

Julian this is so lovely. I love the way you used different colors to denote the differences in depth of water. It is so rich with color and depth. I can’t wait to hang this up on your gallery wall.

Julian, what a wonderful use of color. I really love how you you used more then one kind of blue to define the bubbles in the fish bowl. The colors you chose for the background make this scene warm and inviting I bet whatever lucky fish and frogs that get to live here are very happy. I especially love the little castle you painted for them to swim through. Maybe the will hide in there when they are sleepy. Bravo! Matisse would be proud of how fluid your painting is. One can really get the feel for how flowey and freeing the water is. Did you know that Matisse got together with a group of artists called “fauves” and had a great show where they used bright colors such as these. Your painting would fit right in. I can’t wait to hang this at home.
