Henry, I love to see all your progress in your art ventures! It is amazing to look at the talent that is developing in each of your projects. Love to see each new adventure. Love you! Grandma

Henry, the first thing that came into my mind when I saw your latest creation was James Joyce's "A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man." I think that would be the perfect title for this picture ("portrait"). In looking at all your pictures in your gallery, I can see your talent developing strongly and I look forward to your next works. You're very talented! Grandpa Dave

Henry, this image is absolutely beautiful! You capture the wonderful colors of autumn and the contrast of your background is perfect. The details of your leaf reflect your attention to detail. It's clear that your artistic ability is growing in many ways. I've loved seeing your past works, but this one is my favorite so far. Thanks so much for sharing! Grandpa Dave

Henry, your picture challenged me to explore the Living Building Challenge and I learned a lot about it. I see some key petals in your picture that I hope I've interpreted correctly. I think comfort is a petal (the couch), as well as energy (the lights), beauty (your decor(ations)), functionality (storage (closet?)), and space (no clutter). The concept of an ideally built environment will help me see my favorite room here in our home in a new light. Maybe my most important petal is sound (music) with all of its associated music reproduction equipment. Thanks to your challenge, I'll see my room in a new way from now on. Excellent work! I love your sunflower, Henry! It could also be a sunrise, or even a sunflower AT sunrise. Very nice colorization and precise use of the circle and triangle rays. I like the contrast between the flower's parts and the dark background. I would love to have a flower like this in our garden. Great work!

Henry, I love your use of colors in this piece. If this is a representational image, I see several variations: a football on the grass, a piece of watermelon, a very large fish, or maybe even a UFO. If it's an abstract, I find the colors quite complementary. It's very intriguing and inspires my thinking. Thanks for sharing this. You're very imaginative!

Henry, I absolutely LOVE your sunflower! Everything about it is just right. Of course, I wouldn't be Grandpa Dave if I didn't also see an allusion to a solar eclipse. Maybe that's how sunflowers got their name, way back in history. A group of people in France might have been looking at an entire field of these beautiful flowers but didn't know what to call them. Then, in an amazing coincidence at that moment, there happened to be a total solar eclipse, which really got their attention. After the eclipse was over, one of the people said, "Hey, these flowers look exactly like what we just saw up in the sky, so let's call them sunflowers!" Well, maybe that didn't happen, but it makes a nice story. :-) Anyway, your artwork is improving by leaps and bounds. I love to see everything that you do. Keep up the great work, Henry! Grandpa Dave

Henry, I LOVE your Maltese Retriever! You've captured much of the character of this adorable canine. Did you know that these dogs were a symbol of status for high-society citizens of the Roman Empire? I didn't know that, either, until your picture inspired me to look it up! Next time, you can do a portrait of The Maltese Falcon. There's a movie about that. Great work! Grandpa Dave

Henry, your Baby Monster is definitely scary. I would not want to encounter it, especially at night, when I'm on the way to the kitchen for a snack. I'd be afraid that it would jab me with that pointy head or kick me with one of its sharp feet. Worst of all, I'd hate to meet it later, when it becomes an Adult Monster. Great use of dark colors. It would be hard to see at night! Grandpa Dave

Henry, what an interesting objet d'art (that's French for "art object," but you probably already know that). It looks to be painted clay and was, perhaps, even cured in a kiln. At first glance, it appeared to me to be an abstract dog with green, floppy ears, a large panting tongue, one eye closed while winking, and yellow nostrils on its nose. It could also be your version of a colorful Xbox wireless controller. On the other hand, it could be a salad, a crab, or even a frog. I love abstract art. It allows the viewer to apply his or her unique interpretation as to what s/he is viewing. I'm excited that you're expanding into different art media. Maybe you can experiment some day with wood, metal, and various adhesives. Whatever direction your artwork takes, be sure to let me know what you're creating. I love the way you express yourself! This is one makes me happy. I smiled when I first saw it. Keep up the great work on your artwork. I love seeing all the new things that you create.

Henry, I see so many things when I ponder this work of yours. At first glance, for me, it looks like an abstract take on the sun's corona during a total eclipse. Then, as my mind takes flight, I see a hamburger dropped into a bucket of yellow paint, or a happy face bursting a balloon. The lighter tones and thinner lines gain thickness as they pass downward through the "faceburger." I like this piece very much. It reminds me of a mix of Miro, Pollock, and Klee. (You can look up those artists to see their works.) All your artwork makes me think. I like that. Thanks for the inspiration! Grandpa Dave

Wow, Henry. You've created a dramatic Rorschach Test-like image here! It also looks like a beautiful flower, maybe a hybrid Pansy. Very striking. I love it! As I look longer at it, I can also see the face of a tiger emerge. The orange and black colors remind me of Princeton University. This would look great on their athletic uniforms! Very creative! Henry, this is an awesomely intricate piece of work! It could be a complex pumpkin, a deflated soccer ball, a partially consumed autumn leaf, a multi-colored doily, a deceptively shaded Venus flytrap, or a pictorial representation of my brain! There are unlimited possibilities. Maybe you can reveal its meaning, unless it's purely abstract. I love seeing your work. The colors and images are super! Grandpa Dave

This is a GREAT piece of art, Henry! Did you also do the cover art for "Music from Peter Gunn"? (They won't allow a URL for that, so check Amazon to see the Peter Gunn-Henry-look-a-like album cover. Keep up the super work, Henry! Grandpa Dave
