It's funny, I have not asked the artist directly, but I feel that the subject is projecting back at the viewer what the viewers normally project toward her. She is "giving it back" to us. Her glitz and glamor equils the outpouring of attention and notoriety that she has garnered over the years, but now she has turned to her admirers and like a thank you, and is giving it back.

This piece, with its two sides, two stories, speaks to me. The little mouse, both invisible night thief and yet also the charismatic socialite, is represented beautifully here.
