Benjamin, your winter scene is awesome. I like the overhanging trees and the snow flakes against the vibrant sky. Your moon seems to glow in the atmosphere you created with the paint. It is a beautiful winter scene. ? Grandma

This looks like it was fun to make. Is that a small house in the center? I have curiosity about that cube. I like how you defined its edges- I bet that wasn’t perfectly easy. What would you title this piece? Love, Auntie J.

Benjamin, your latest artwork is excellent. I think I see the influence of watercolor painting in your piece. Your colors flow. I also like the shape in the center - very interesting. Love you and your art, too. Grandma

That is a gorgeous picture! I’m not sure which is more terrifying- the camouflaged snake or the Venus flytrap :) Love it! Auntie J

Hi Benjamin, I just saw Your new art work with the serpent. Oh my you did an exceptional job - the tree, the leaves, the flowers and the snake coiling its way up the tree are done with perfection. And, the blue wash of the sky looks so real. I am proud of you, Benjamin. Love, Grandma

This artwork needs a title! I see so many patterns! I see music notes, hexagons, stripes, letters and what looks like seeds. I can imagine this is a close-up flower with another in the background. Or a spiky coronavirus. Or a bouquet of corncobs. Or a turkey tail. Haha. I like that it lets me imagine multiple possibilities. I’m guessing my first guess is right? The leaves on the background flower help orient me to the floweriness of the close-up.

Benjamin, Your reverse art project is so neatly done. It will be perfect to decorate the patio window with it at Easter time. Then you can also dye the eggs as vividly as the colors in your art project. It does not feel like spring in WI. It is a -12 degrees below zero, today. I think of you a lot. Love you, Grandma

Finally! Benjamin, I have been waiting and waiting for your art work to appear. Your pumpkins are so well shaped and colorful. I never would have imagined anything but an orange or white pumpkin. Your interpretation makes the pumpkins glow by the light of the moon. Love you, Grandma

This is great. It looks like a trip to a national park. Or an illustration for a Tomie dePaola story. Love, Auntie J.

Hi Benjamin, You are certainly a super hero to me. But, you know what? You are even more handsome that your drawing. Your picture made me smile. Love you, Grandma

Dear Benjamin, I do not know when you did this spiderweb art, but it is terrific. Once again, your details are amazing. I can tell you put a lot of thought into this picture. Thank you for making nature as beautiful as it is. Love, Grandma

Hi Benjamin, Do you know about the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso? Your latest art work reminds me of his work. The shapes and the colors fit the style of Picasso's. What fun it is to see such a wonderful piece of art being done by you. Continue to enjoy art and to create. Your work is sure enjoyed. Love, Grandma

I very much like this quiet, peaceful forest at night. I like how I see 4 different species of trees, too.

Hi Benjamin, Your holiday bear looks so friendly. I think that he likes and is comfortable in the hat and scarf you designed for him. He is really prepared for the snowflakes falling around him. Enjoy your snowy day. Maybe you can make a snow bear? Love, Grandma

Dear Benjamin. Your autumn tree is just spectacular. Were your wonderful branches inspired by the "Whomping willow?" The vivid colors that you chose for the foliage and the landscape make your entire scene glow. I hope that you continue to be inspired to do more wonderful art. Your work makes the family smile.

Dear Benjamin, Your art work entitled "Winter Shadows" is remarkable. The cold, night sky is awesome. It is the sky that is perfect for looking at the constellations. The trees are all similar but also unique. And, of course, the shadows caused by the moon's light give your work a title. You should be very proud of your painting. I, for sure, am proud of you and your work. Love you, Grandma

What a beautiful winter scene! This reminds me of the happy pine trees in Penguin and Pinecone - and look at all those stars! The shadows on the ground make it look like a REAL forest. I love your artwork, and I love YOU! Mama

Happy Halloween Benjamin! Your autumn artwork was just posted online. I like the sky with the very white clouds and the images of birds flying. The mountains are shaded so realistically; the river has movement; and, the splashes of gold, red and yellow on the hillsides make the picture come alive. Here is to a painting well done. Love you, Grandma

Benjamin this is so vivid! I like how you filled the whole scene with the complementary colors of blue and orange. Did you know those are UVA colors? ( the university your parents attended and where they met ) Love, Auntie J

Benjamin, There are sure a lot of cats in your picture. It looks like you used two mediums : water color and ink. You did a very nice job at keeping the colors separate. I am anxious to see more of you art work during the school year. You know how much I enjoy your projects. Love you, Grandma

Grammy loves all those brightly colored kitty cats! It reminds me of all the kitties that have been part of my family over the years.

It's clear who rules the barnyard! That's one large chicken. I like that the cow is mooing, and the happy expression on the bee's face makes me smile. Great job!

Grammy loves your vibrant colors! I think I'll visit your city by helicopter so I don't have to cross the bridge and get near that croc!

I love your magical city. Showing night and day was really clever. And the moat with the croc really adds excitement. Whoever crosses the bridge better WATCH OUT. Do keep on drawing, coloring and painting over your summer vacation. Love you, Grandma

Benjamin, I really like the detail on your lion, and I also like the interesting background design on your picture. Sometime, you will have to see the play "The Lion King." In the play, the animals are portrayed as very large puppets. It is a fantastic performance to see, and your drawing reminds me of the play. Keep on being creative. Your work is enjoyed by the whole family. Love you, Grandma

It looks like we are off to space on a crisp, clear night. I would love to be the one peeking out of the rocket's window, but I'm thinking that might just be Benjamin and Henry looking out. Your vivid colors are amazing!

Benjamin, Your picture must be of a Rhode Island sunset. It is absolutely gorgeous. I am happy that you included the sea, too. The picture makes me think of summer, and because it is absolutely winter in WI, I like thinking about warmer weather. Love you.

Wow that looks like a rainbow at the North Pole, so vivid. I like that I can see silhouettes of deciduous and evergreen trees. I like the contrast between the color and the black. I think this is my favorite pic yet! Love, Auntie J.

Such a great pic! Your cousin Hannah tried to join your fan club, but it said your fans have to be 13 or older. You have a 12-year-old fan! She really liked your sun.

Benjamin, your autumn picture is breathtakingly beautiful. Today, in Wisconsin, the leaves are falling like rain, and your picture reflects that with vivid color. Thank you for your art. Love, Grandma

Great job! It's raining beautiful, fall colored leaves. Reminds me of past times we've watched the leaves fall, and I would say "kaboom" when they landed, and you would laugh.

Wonderful blending of colors in those hearts!

Nice work, Benjamin! Did you stamp the hearts and then paint them? Did you decide to make all the hearts half one color and half another? I like that choice!
