This month we are celebrating Black History Month in the art room with virtual Field trips to the Legacy Museum in Alabama and The Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. Students complete workbooks on the field trip and create a drawing from what they viewed on each field trip.
Students will be taking another field trip in March to the Getty museum let by docents at the Getty Museum.
Students are learning about 3 types of African textiles from 3 different countries in Africa by drawing them. They are also creating an African children's counting book with African numbers and learning about weaving by creating a paper weaving with African textile papers.
7th & 8th grade students need to have picked up their packet and face masks from their designs at Riverview Middle school office (Monday-Friday 8-3)
6th graders need to have picked up their sketchbook at school as well.
Please make sure your student attends each zoom class and stay the entire class. Students should be spending some time each day working on their art assignments outside of the zoom class as well.
The last 2 weeks in February, students will be exchanging drawings with students in Cameroon.
