Expressions Charter Chat: January 2017
from Jenell Novello
The "earth" without "art" is just "eh."- Ned Roram
I hope everyone had a safe, healthy and happy holiday season!
It's hard to believe that we are nearing the halfway mark of the school year! I have so much more fun and exciting art projects to share with my students and I can't wait to get started!
Our next installation is a big one and will need lots of help. The installation includes installing 27 Book Cover Ceiling Tile Legacy Murals created by the 8th grade students. These amazing murals will be installed in the LMC and LE Classrooms. In addition to the ceiling tiles being installed the Pop Art Exhibit, which includes artwork from 6th-8th grade, will need to be installed the the MPR Gallery Space as well. If you can help out with any of these installations on Wednesday, January 11, please click this

Just for Grade 7
7th Grade Inspires! Once we return from break the 7th grade class will finalize the production of their inspirational word sculptures in the style of "Pop" artist Robert Indiana. The sculptures will be installed in the MPR Gallery for the entire campus to see! I can't wait for their thoughtful messages to be exhibited and to inspire others!
Just for Grade 8
8th Grade Advocates! On the Big Day of Reading, the 8th grade will collaborate to paint 27 original book cover designs onto 27 2' X 4' ceiling tiles. These designs were created by our 8th grade students with the purpose to advertise books to new readers and to promote a love for reading. A majority of the ceiling tiles will be permanently installed in the Learning Media Center, while others will be permanently installed in the Leading Edge classrooms. Thanks to LEAP for helping to make this 8th grade legacy project possible!
Artsonia is the largest student art museum in the world! Our dream is that every young artist will have an online art gallery, preserving their masterpieces in a digital portfolio!
