The "earth" without "art" is just "eh."- Ned Roram

May has arrived! That means there's about 6 more weeks left of creating in Expressions Room this school year. So much to do, so little time...
Speaking of time, the Street Fair is this Wednesday from 5:30-7:00. This event will showcase a TON of student artwork both in and outside of the classroom. There will be artists in action, art tours and more! Please mark this night on your calendar as it should be a colorful and lively event!

Just for Grade 7

Needles are flying in Expessions! Students have mastered the running stitch, embroidery, back stitch, whip stitch and how to sew on a button! Soon they will be able to show off all of their skills with a hand-sewn pillow! Sewing in the 7th grade scaffolds MANY textile projects in the 8th grade so don't worry, they will keep on stitchin'!

Just for Grade 8

Mural underway! The Street Art Unit kicked off with the 8th Grade Graffiti Legacy Project! Using graffiti to represent culture, students will interpret their definition of culture and translate it with the use of symbolism. Through painting symbols within graffiti letters that spell out Leading Edge students will express the collective culture of the class of 2020 on the main wall of the Leading Edge Academy!
Artsonia is the largest student art museum in the world! Our dream is that every young artist will have an online art gallery, preserving their masterpieces in a digital portfolio!
