The "earth" without "art" is just "eh."- Ned Roram

It's hard to believe we have been in school for 3 weeks already! Our students have been very busy getting familiar with the art room and we have been busy transitioning them to the 7th grade and getting to know them better! Our first art units produced fabulous artwork which incorported basic elements of art using basic materials. Our next unit is much more diverse and will use materials that are more technical. Please, Please remeber to turn in an Art materials Donation letter by September 4th so that we can continue to provide engaging art curruculum!

Just for Grade 7

7th grade is wrapping up the Manga Unit with Manga Comic strip! Earlier this month the students refreshed their drawing skills completing four step-by-step drawings of unique Manga Charatcers. Students then learned color pencil techniques and really showed their creative side with their Self as Manga Portraits! Our next unit will involve students learning about art forms unique to Dias de los Muertos and creating work for our October 14th exhibit. Don’t miss it!

Just for Grade 8

8th grade Op Art installations are all the rage this past month! From the Op Cubes and CD's making it into Ms. Goldman's personal Art Gallery to the Ceiling Tile Op Art Collaborative mural, these kids are diving into what 8th grade Expressions is all about- Art making A Difference! Our next unit will involve students learning about art forms unique to Dias de los Muertos and creating work for our October 14th exhibit. Don’t miss it!
Artsonia is the largest student art museum in the world! Our dream is that every young artist will have an online art gallery, preserving their masterpieces in a digital portfolio!
