Dear Expressions Families,

The year has started off with a bang! It's been so fun getting to know the 7th grade students and settling in with the 8th grade class. I look forward to meeting you all at Back To School Night next Thursday! It's going to be a GREAT year!

Just for Grade 7

Manga Madness is happening now! The 7th grade class kicked off the year with a Manga Drawing Unit focusing on the eyeand facial features. I am super impressed with the quality of work and level of engagement so far! We will create 3 projects within this unit that is linked here.
The one thing that could help students further is to have set color pencils at home so if they don't finish their work in class they can easily complete their work at home. Thank you for all of your support and see you at Back to School Night!

Just for Grade 8

Op Art is going to make the room SPIN  from the floor to the ceiling as the 8th grade students acquire the skills to create their first ceiling tile mural installation. The Op Art Unit contain 4 projects  and is linked here. I am really impressed with how students are pushing their creative problem solving working through the various illusion patterns! One thing that could help students further is if they had a set of black Sharpies at home so that they can easily finish work at home. Thank you for all of your support and see you at Back to School Night!
Artsonia is the largest student art museum in the world! Our dream is that every young artist will have an online art gallery, preserving their masterpieces in a digital portfolio!
