We are starting Week 2 of Art E-Learning. I enjoyed looking through some wonderful art projects that have come in from last week from sculpture insects, to character sketches, to pop artworks. If you are running behind with your work pleaase try to get it in soon so you can get started on your artwork for this week:

1. Read or Listen to the story

2. Create a sculpture inspired from the reading. You can use objects from nature, food, building toys, or other materials found in and around your house.
3. Take a photo of you sculpture and record your artist statement.

Mrs. Klatt’s Art Class - Sculpture Day 4
1.Watch the following You Tube video that highlights the work of Mark di Suvero
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2z1wQzDVzs and demonstrates a fun line project with paper.
2.Cut or have an adult helper cut a variety of 1 inch paper strips for you to use from copy paper, magazines, construction paper - whatever you have at your house.
3.Use your paper strips to construct a paper sculpture with at least 6 strips. It is okay if you only have white paper. You can mount your sculpture to cardboard (a cut up cereal box works great)
4. Take a photo of your work and talk about it.

Tuesday:
Use your iPad to photograph something from nature 3 different ways. If you have an object that is not growing in the ground and can be moved bring it inside and photograph it on a white piece of paper or a white sheet to keep your background clean. Experiment with changing your photos by cropping and experimenting with the color and saturation tools in the photo editor. Upload three different photos of the same object into Google Classroom. Pick your favorite of the three photos and upload it to Artsonia. Add a title and your artist statement that answers the questions

- Watch the layers tutorial for sketches in Google Classroom.
- Look at the How to Draw Pigeon handout. Create a background layer for your drawing of Pigeon and then add Pigeon to it in Sketches.
- Submit your final artwork to Google Classroom

- Review Pop Art Articles from last week
- Complete the Comprehension Quiz.
- Complete one new Pop Art sketch from the prompts provided last week.
- Submit Sketch to Google Classroom.
- Watch Paint in Pop video for inspiration in Google Classroom
- 4-6 Object photographs. Begin taking snapshots of one everyday store bought object from 4-6 different views. For example, pick a soda can, soup can, sunglasses, game controller, box of candy, etc. Pick something that is fairly simple and not too complicated. Use your iPad camera to snap shots and then crop them in a variety of ways. It will be helpful to create a clean backdrop for your photo. Place your item on a white paper or white sheet or near a white wall. Try to avoid any background clutter/details. Submit 4-6 photos of your item into Google Classroom.
