from Mrs. McManamon
Good Morning Dear Art Friends!
I hope this finds you doing well.  Today I will be breaking up your lessons by age group.

Our shared theme is creating a character, and getting to know the work of a locally born author and illustrator, Mr. Mo Willems. I think you'll have fun with this.

For those of you interested, or for my younger students who will be working on Piggie and may have trouble with it, here is a Step by step of Piggie.

Have a cReAtiVe day!

Just for Kindergarten

Dear Kindergarteners,
A link to directed drawing: Rob and his son doing a guided drawing of Piggie
Just click the link and follow along with the drawing.  You can use a black crayon to draw Piggie and color it in when you're done.  Please save the picture to artsonia (upload) and ask the person helping you if they would type in what you dictate about your drawing.  If you can type it in yourself, that's great too!

If you have trouble drawing piggie, here is a Step by step of Piggie

Have fun!  I look forward to seeing what you create!

Dear 1st Graders,
A link to directed drawing: Rob and his son doing a guided drawing of Piggie
Just click the link and follow along with the drawing.  You can use a black crayon to draw Piggie and color it in when you're done.  If you want to draw a setting, that would be terrific!  Please upload onto Artsonia and type in at least 1 sentence about how this went for you.  Remember to start your sentence with an upper case letter! :)

Just for Grade 3

Hi 3rd Graders!
Today you will get to spend time with a local artist who is also a writer.  He was born in Des Plaines, IL, not far from where we live.  You may know him as the creator of books like..."Don't let the Pigeon Drive the Bus"..  His name is Mo Willems.  He will show you his studio, but first you'll get to draw a doodle with him, so get ready, make sure you have crayons and paper to draw with.

Think about what kind of a book you could write and illustrate... Please upload your doodle/work to Artsonia and write 3 sentences about this assignment.  I am excited to hear what you have to say!
