News from Art Room B-RB!
from Ms. N. Miller
“There are no mistakes in Art...only new discoveries!" NRM

This school year has flown by in our classroom!  Your rising artists have created many beautiful pieces that are displayed on artsonia.com. I want to thank those of you who actively participate online.  The rankings are based on the number of artworks, fan club members, comments to students, and artist statements.  Please remember to write comments to your children and other students- it means so much to them!  Also, thank you for your purchases on Artsonia. Those dollars spent in the gift shop bring revenue to our classroom and that means much needed art supplies!

To my Artsonia Community of Families & Friends:
I am often asked two questions about Artsonia:

1.   “How can I help” or “Can I help”?
My answer is “Yes, you can help by participation on the site”. This is done by checking and approving comments that go into your child’s guestbook and joining fan clubs. You cannot do this unless you register as a parent or confirm registration if I registered you.

2.  The other question is “Are the products any good and do you ever buy any Artsonia products?”
Yes, the products have always been of very good quality.

Current News:  New Art Room Location and Name
Our new Art Room is marked with a letter “B” instead of a number, but so is the Music classroom. However, the art room is on the side of campus where the beautiful “Rainbow Bridge” resides!  Therefore, to distinguish the two “B” rooms, I will refer to our new space as Art Room B-RB.

What are students learning?
K-2: Students will explore line, shape, and pattern with a focus on application. They will also observe and learn how to analyze art.

3-6th: Students will continue to learn about Color Perception in our Color Theory Part 2 Unit. This will be combined with the study and application of one-point perspective and French Impressionism.

Make-Up Work:
A few students still need to complete the “All About Me” Name Design project.  Students may have to take the artwork home as homework and bring the completed work back to me by January 14-15th. Once I receive the completed project, I will change the grade in the gradebook. Note: Please make sure your student does not fold her/his artwork.

Art Focus: New selection for second semester K-6th Students is in progress.
Activities:  TBD

Future events at OPPAA:

I hope this New Year starts out amazing!
