Art Room B@RB News
from Ms. Miller
Happy March everyone! I know what you are thinking. Today is February 29th, right? Yes! However, it would ordinarily be the first of March if it weren’t for leap day.  Since it only comes around every four years, I felt it was noteworthy to mention this rare occurrence. Know anyone born on this day? It must be interesting to celebrate your birthday every four years--smile

Well, it looks like March is already flying by as we speak and for this reason, I am extending the Art Focus T-shirt Logo Design Contest from the original submission deadline of March 11 to April 15, 2016. I feel students need some more time to work on the design.

Questions and Answers about the Art Focus T-shirt Logo Design Contest:

  •  Q: Do I need to create my design on a t-shirt?  A: No!  You submit your logo design on white art paper, size 8.5 X 11 (No notebook, color, or construction paper, please).
  •  Q: Who will provide the t-shirt for the logo? A:  Students are responsible for supplying their own t-shirt (colors white or OPPAA light blue).  The winning design will be printed on iron-on transfer paper.
  • Q: If I win, what happens to my design? Will I get it back?  A: The winning design and runners up will be displayed in the school’s main building until next school year.
  • Q: Even though I am not in Art Focus, can I submit a design for the contest? A: The contest is limited to students who are currently signed up for the second semester Art Focus. This is a branch project students agreed to participate in while learning about graphic design and logos.
  • Q: Can I work on the design at home? A: YES!! Please do!  Our time is limited in class and we only meet once a week.
Please let me know if you have any other questions about the contest.
