Art Room Recap/Current News:

K-2:
Students continue their art education exploring the Color unit. They are using warm and cool colors from the Color Wheel to create artwork related to the changing seasons and nature. They will focus on the colors yellow and blue.  They watched a short video about autumn observing the warm and cool colors in nature. They also looked at and handled dried maple leaves ranging in color from red, orange to yellow. Other dried, colorful leaves and flower petals with varying textures where introduced as well. They are currently working on “The Beauty of the Fall” project.

3-6th:
Students continue learning about color relationships, temperature, and Color Harmonies based on the Color Wheel. This will help them to create artwork using an Analogous and/or Complementary color palette in the “All About Me” Name Design project. In addition, they learned about typography and design in order to apply it to their own unique artwork.
