The "earth" without "art" is just "eh."- Ned Roram
Some great news! In the past 2 weeks I was awarded a couple more grants! Kids In Need and Chalk It Up awarded a combined $1000.00 towards art materials for the visual and performing arts. I feel very fortunate and I am very excited for my students! YAY!
I am very thankful for all of your continued support and I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season!
Just for Grade 7
Tape Murals, Block letters- Oh My!
Next Wednesday the 7th grade class will begin taping the walls of the LE Hallways transforming it into a Linear Perspective Art Exhibit! The Tape Murals will be displayed during the month of December until we return from break so make sure you drop by and walk our hallway so you have a chance to see them! After the murals we will begin constructing the Block Letter Sculptures! In order to construct these your child will need to bring in 2 pieces of large poster board and 1 paper grocery bag. These items are posted on Schoology and due December 9th. The Block Letters will be exhibited in the Collaborative Pop Art Exhibit opening in January. More on that later!
Just for Grade 8
Light Painting, Tattoos and... Pop Art!
The 8th grade class will finish up the Trick Photography Unit this week with Digital Tattoos. This Unit has been super fun for all of us since a couple of the projects are new and have been purely experimental. I am constantly inspired by my students willingness to jump right in and try new things! :)
Next up is the Pop Art Unit where students will make Cake Sculptures that look good enough to eat and Warhol Self Portraits that look very psychodelic. These projects will be exhibited in the Collaborative Pop Art Unit opening in January. More on that later!
